Bert & Rose was born from a love of home, scent and the simple rituals that make everyday life feel a little more special.
Founded by Abigail, every candle is hand-poured in small batches using natural soy wax and carefully chosen fragrance and essential oils. The aim is simple: to create beautiful home fragrance that makes you want to slow down, get cosy and enjoy being at home.
A name with a story
Bert and Rose were Abigail's grandparents — one from each side of her family.
Naming the business after them felt like the perfect reflection of everything the brand was created to celebrate: home, family, nostalgia and connection.
Because scent has an incredible way of taking us back. Freshly baked treats, a familiar perfume, coffee brewing in the morning — sometimes a fragrance can bring back a person, place or feeling before you've even realised it.
That's the feeling behind Bert & Rose.
Why ingredients matter to us
Abigail's own experience with women's health made her increasingly conscious of the everyday choices she was making — from what she put into her body to the products and ingredients she brought into her home.
It made her look more closely at candles, too.
Bert & Rose was created from the belief that you shouldn't have to choose between a candle that smells incredible and one made with more considered ingredients.
That's why our candles are made with natural soy wax rather than paraffin wax, alongside carefully selected fragrance and essential oils. We choose fragrances without parabens and phthalates, keeping our approach simple: beautiful fragrance, without the unnecessary nasties.
No fear. No perfection. Just more considered choices about the things we bring into our homes.
Made slowly, in small batches
Every Bert & Rose candle is poured, finished and packed by hand in small batches.
We work with UK suppliers wherever possible and love supporting other small and female-founded businesses along the way. Producing in smaller quantities also means we can make according to demand rather than creating unnecessary stock.
Our candles arrive individually boxed in our signature packaging, and orders are packed using recyclable card and paper wherever possible. We also make use of rescued packaging materials when we can, giving perfectly usable materials another life rather than sending them to waste.
We're not claiming to be perfect. We're simply trying to make thoughtful choices at every stage.
Made for the moments in between
Some Bert & Rose candles are created to transport you somewhere — to a bakery filled with warm pastries, your favourite coffee shop or a kitchen where something delicious has just come out of the oven.
Others are made for quieter rituals.
Luna Bloom, our women's wellness aromatherapy candle, was created with the changing rhythms of womanhood in mind — from periods and PMS to perimenopause and menopause, and all the everyday moments when you simply need a little space for yourself.
